On, Tuesday, October 18, the Davis Fire Department visited Davis Elementary to discuss the importance of fire safety.  The fire department taught students to “Get down, get out and stay out!” They also taught students to have a safe meeting place in case of a fire and to call 911 in emergencies.  Students were also shown different equipment and tools that fire fighters use.  Our own 2nd grade teacher and Chorus director, Ms. Brandi Steele, dressed up in a fire fighter uniform to explain to the students that even though the uniforms appear scary, they are there to help you.  The fire department also reminded all students to never hide from a fire fighter.

Davis would like to thank the Davis Volunteer Fire Department for making that special visit to help teach all of our students about fire safety.  We would also like to thank them for the coloring books, and for bringing their trucks to the for the students to see.
