Education

Mrs. Gibson grew up in Dade County, GA, attending Davis as an elementary school student. After graduating from DCHS in 2005, she continued her academic studies at Dalton State College. She graduated in 2010 from DSC with a Bachelors of Science in the area of Early Childhood Education with a focus in educating English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). In the summer of 2015, she added her Special Education endorsement in order to focus on her passion, working with the students with special needs and their families.

 

 



Experience

Mrs. Gibson began her career in education working as a paraprofessional in Catoosa County. A classroom quickly opened a few weeks into the school year, where she was transferred to the position of classroom teacher in the first grade. She worked as a first grade teacher for two years before making the decision to stay home with her new baby.

 

Later, Mrs. Gibson went back to work at Siskin Children's Institute where she worked with children with special needs in the preschool classroom setting. Upon deciding to return to the public school system, Mrs. Gibson added the Special Education endorsement to her teaching license, deciding to focus on working with children with special needs. She began working at Davis Elementary in 2015 as a Special Education teacher.



Bio

Mrs. Gibson hails from Dade County, GA. She was raised in the Big Woods and appreciates all there is to be offered in Dade County. She has been married for 10 years to husband Colt Gibson. Together they share two children, Wyatt and Weston.
